Cherki is a Peranakan card game, similar to mahjong or rummy, played with a special deck of 120 cards. Each card features unique motifs, symbols, and numbers that tell stories of still, strategy and luck. Beyond being just a game, Cherki represents a connection within a Baba-Nyonya family, laughter, and the passing down of heritage across generations.
Maneknya reimagined the Cherki cards to be modern and artistic, while still keeping the traditional Cherki charm.
Goal: To be the first to complete your hand by forming specific sets and pairs of cards.
No of Player: 2-6 person
Historical meaning
Historically played within Peranakan households in regions such as Melaka, Penang, Singapore, and parts of Indonesia, Cherki was more than just a pastime — it was a social ritual. Families and elders would gather, sharing stories, laughter, and friendly competition around the card table.
At Maneknya, we believe heritage should be lived, played, and shared — and Cherki is one beautiful way to keep these traditions alive.
